Join a Local Club
Players do not sign-up through Rugby Virginia but instead join a local club in Virginia.
A player/club’s competition level is based on age and/or gender. FIT Touch (non-contact) and U12/U14 tackle rugby are Co-ED. U16 and 18U are single sex.
You can find a list of clubs with contact information under the Clubs menu. Feel free to contact the club directly; coaches are always looking for new players!
Register with USA Youth and High School
All players, coaches, and administrators are required to register with USA Youth and High School. This is done through RugbyXplorer. The club you sign-up with will have additional information on how to register.
Get the Gear
Compared to other sports, rugby does not require much equipment. Players need:
- Cleats
- Rugby shorts
- Long/rugby socks
- Mouthpiece
Together with a team shirt, which the club provides, this comprises the player’s kit.
